PAG LIN 1 1 Amend Senate File 2195 as follows: 1 2 #1. Page 3, by inserting after line 35 the 1 3 following: 1 4 "Sec. . Section 8D.4, Code 1995, is amended to 1 5 read as follows: 1 6 8D.4 EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND CHIEF OPERATING 1 7 OFFICER APPOINTED. 1 8 The commission shall appoint an executive director 1 9 of the commission, subject to confirmation by the 1 10 senate, and a chief operating officer, subject to 1 11 confirmation by the senate.Such individualThe 1 12 individuals shall not serve asa membermembers of the 1 13 commission. The executive director and the chief 1 14 operating officer shall serve at the pleasure of the 1 15 commission. The executive director shall be selected 1 16 primarily for administrative ability and knowledge in 1 17 the field, without regard to political affiliation. 1 18 The governor shall establish the salary of the 1 19 executive director within range nine as established by 1 20 the general assembly. The commission shall establish 1 21 the salary of the chief operating officer. The salary 1 22 and support of the executive director and the chief 1 23 operating officer shall be paid from funds deposited 1 24 in the Iowa communications network fund." 1 25 #2.
