  1  1    Amend Senate File 2442 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 43, by striking lines 1 through 16 and
  1  3 inserting the following:
  1  4    "NEW SUBSECTION.  5A.  The department of human
  1  5 services may give approval to conversion of beds
  1  6 specializing in substance abuse treatment previously
  1  7 approved under subsection 5, paragraph "b", to beds
  1  8 which are not specialized as referenced in subsection
  1  9 5, paragraph "a".  Beds converted under this
  1 10 subsection shall be in addition to the number of beds
  1 11 authorized under subsection 5, paragraph "a".
  1 12 However, the total number of beds approved under
  1 13 subsection 5 shall not exceed four hundred thirty.
  1 14 Conversion of beds under this subsection shall not
  1 15 require a revision of the certificate of need issued
  1 16 for the psychiatric institution making the
  1 17 conversion."
