  1  1    Amend Senate File 2245 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 70, by inserting after line 15 the
  1  3 following:  
  1  4                      "DIVISION    
  1  5                  CONGRESSIONAL ACTION
  1  6    Sec.    .  CONGRESSIONAL ACTION.  The general
  1  7 assembly urges the members of Iowa's congressional
  1  8 delegation to reassert the rights of states to make
  1  9 decisions concerning the implementation of their
  1 10 governmental pension plans and, in particular, to
  1 11 adopt legislation to eliminate arbitrary federal
  1 12 restrictions on the rights of states to decide on any
  1 13 limitation regarding the time period during which a
  1 14 beneficiary may apply to the pension plan to receive
  1 15 rightful payment of a death benefit.  The secretary of
  1 16 the senate shall send a copy of this section of this
  1 17 Act to the members of Iowa's congressional delegation,
  1 18 upon enactment."
  1 19    #2.  By renumbering as necessary.
