1 2 follows:
1 3 #1. Page 1, line 10, by inserting after the word
1 4 "intervention." the following: "The court may, in
1 5 deciding whether to order the parties to participate
1 6 in mediation, consider whether ordering mediation may
1 7 place a party at risk of domestic abuse if there is a
1 8 credible history of domestic abuse between the
1 9 parties."
1 10 #2. Page 1, line 29, by inserting after the word
1 11 "advisable." the following: "The court may, in
1 12 deciding whether to order the parties or a child to
1 13 participate in mediation, consider whether ordering
1 14 mediation may place a party or a child at risk of
1 15 domestic or child abuse if there is a credible history
1 16 of domestic or child abuse in the family."
1 17 #3. Page 1, by inserting after line 31 the
1 18 following:
1 19 "Sec. . Section 598.41, Code 1995, is amended
1 20 by adding the following new subsection:
1 21 NEW SUBSECTION. 7. If an application for
1 22 modification of a decree or a petition for
1 23 modification of an order is filed, based upon
1 24 differences between the parents regarding the custody
1 25 arrangement established under the decree or order, the
1 26 court may require the parents to participate in
1 27 mediation to attempt to resolve the differences
1 28 between the parents."
1 29 #4. By renumbering, relettering, or redesignating
1 30 and correcting internal references as necessary.
