1 1 Amend the amendment, S-3236, to Senate File 459 as
1 2 follows:
1 3 #1. Page 1, by inserting after line 14 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "An employee of the department of public safety who
1 6 retires after the effective date of this Act but prior
1 7 to June 30, 1996, is eligible for payment of life or
1 8 health insurance premiums as provided for in the
1 9 collective bargaining agreement covering the public
1 10 safety bargaining unit at the time of retirement if
1 11 that employee previously served in a position which
1 12 would have been covered by the agreement. The
1 13 employee shall be given credit for the service in that
1 14 prior position as though it were covered by that
1 15 agreement. The provisions of this paragraph shall not
1 16 operate to reduce any retirement benefits an employee
1 17 may have earned under other collective bargaining
1 18 agreements or retirement programs."
