1 1 Section 1. The state department of transportation shall
1 2 contract with a private company or companies to lease any
1 3 vehicles that are necessary for the department to carry out
1 4 its duties pursuant to the Code of Iowa. The leased vehicles
1 5 shall include automobiles, light trucks, and heavy equipment.
1 6 The department shall sell the existing vehicle fleet that is
1 7 owned by the state of Iowa.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill requires the state department of transportation
1 10 to contract with a private company or companies to lease any
1 11 vehicles that are necessary for the department to carry out
1 12 its duties pursuant to the Code of Iowa. The leased vehicles
1 13 include automobiles, light trucks, and heavy equipment. The
1 14 bill requires the department to sell the existing vehicle
1 15 fleet that is owned by the state of Iowa.
