1 1 Section 1. STATE PUBLIC DEFENDER. There is appropriated
1 2 from the general fund of the state to the office of the state
1 3 public defender for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1994,
1 4 and ending June 30, 1995, to supplement the appropriation made
1 5 in 1994 Iowa Acts, chapter 1187, section 9, subsection 2, the
1 6 following amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be
1 7 used for the purpose designated:
1 8 For court-appointed attorney fees for indigent adults and
1 9 juveniles:
1 10 .................................................. $ 3,800,000
1 11 Sec. 2. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY. There is
1 12 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
1 13 department of public safety for the fiscal year beginning July
1 14 1, 1994, and ending June 30, 1995, to supplement the
1 15 appropriation made in 1994 Iowa Acts, chapter 1189, section 3,
1 16 subsection 2, the following amount, or so much thereof as is
1 17 necessary, to be used for the purpose designated:
1 18 For the division of criminal investigation and bureau of
1 19 identification:
1 20 .................................................. $ 700,000
1 21 Sec. 3. IOWA COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK. There is
1 22 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the Iowa
1 23 communications network fund for the fiscal year beginning July
1 24 1, 1994, and ending June 30, 1995, the following amount, or so
1 25 much thereof as is necessary, to be used as supplemental
1 26 funding for operations and for payments associated with the
1 27 certificates of participation issued for the network:
1 28 .................................................. $ 3,445,000
1 29 Notwithstanding section 8.33, moneys appropriated in this
1 30 section which remain unexpended or unobligated at the close of
1 31 the fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund of the
1 32 state but shall remain available for expenditure in the
1 33 succeeding fiscal year.
1 34 Sec. 4. DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. There is
1 35 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
2 1 department of economic development for the fiscal year
2 2 beginning July 1, 1994, and ending June 30, 1995, to
2 3 supplement the appropriation made in 1994 Iowa Acts, chapter
2 4 1201, section 1, subsection 2, paragraph "d", the following
2 5 amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the
2 6 purpose designated:
2 7 For deposit in the Iowa strategic investment fund:
2 8 .................................................. $ 2,300,000
2 9 Sec. 5. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Act, being deemed of
2 10 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
2 11 EXPLANATION
2 12 This bill makes supplemental appropriations for the fiscal
2 13 year beginning July 1, 1994, and provides an immediate
2 14 effective date.
2 15 The bill makes supplemental appropriations for fiscal year
2 16 1994-1995 to the state public defender, department of public
2 17 safety, Iowa communications network fund, and department of
2 18 economic development.
