1 3 MILLAGE, and GRUBBS
1 4 (COMPANION TO LSB 2040SS BY TINSMAN)
1 5 A House Resolution recognizing the 100th anniversary of
1 6 the founding of the chiropractic profession.
1 7 WHEREAS, the chiropractic profession was founded on
1 8 September 18, 1895, by Daniel David Palmer in
1 9 Davenport, Iowa, and will therefore celebrate its
1 10 centennial on September 18, 1995; and
1 11 WHEREAS, the profession of chiropractic is now
1 12 practiced by doctors of chiropractic throughout the
1 13 world, including 50,000 doctors of chiropractic
1 14 currently practicing in the United States of America
1 15 alone; and
1 16 WHEREAS, contemporary standards of chiropractic
1 17 education, research, and practice have led to ever-
1 18 broadening acceptance of the benefits of chiropractic
1 19 health care by the public and the health care
1 20 community; and
1 21 WHEREAS, each year millions of Americans now choose
1 22 chiropractic health care for the restoration and
1 23 maintenance of their health by natural methods and
1 24 without the use of drugs or surgery; NOW THEREFORE,
1 25 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
1 26 That the House of Representatives acknowledges the
1 27 chiropractic profession on the occasion of its 100th
1 28 anniversary and commends the significant contribution
1 29 that chiropractic has made to the health and welfare
1 30 of Americans.
2 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Chief Clerk of the
2 2 House of Representatives send a copy of this
2 3 Resolution to the Chiropractic Centennial Foundation
2 4 in the City of Davenport, Iowa.
