1 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding 401 IAC 1.6(6) and any contrary
1 2 provisions of chapter 123, prohibiting the use and consumption
1 3 of alcoholic beverages in public places, alcoholic beverages
1 4 may be used and consumed within the State Capitol at a social
1 5 event, to be held on Saturday, August 12, 1995, coordinated by
1 6 Auditor of State Richard Johnson, Treasurer of State Michael
1 7 Fitzgerald, and Director of Revenue and Finance Gerald Bair,
1 8 if the person providing the food and alcoholic beverages at
1 9 the social event possesses an appropriate valid liquor control
1 10 license. For the purpose of this section and section 123.95,
1 11 the State Capitol is a private place.
1 12 EXPLANATION
1 13 This joint resolution authorizes the host committee of the
1 14 80th Annual Meeting of the National Association of State
1 15 Auditors, Comptrollers, and Treasurers (NASACT) to serve
1 16 alcoholic beverages at a social event located in the State
1 17 Capitol for members of the national association. The social
1 18 event is planned for Saturday evening, August 12, 1995. This
1 19 joint resolution will allow a temporary exception to the
1 20 general prohibition against the consumption of alcoholic
1 21 beverages in public buildings. Auditor of State Richard
1 22 Johnson, Treasurer of State Michael Fitzgerald, and Director
1 23 of Revenue and Finance Gerald Bair are coordinating this
1 24 social reception.
