1 1 Section 1. Section 427.1, Code 1995, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 44. CERTAIN INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY,
1 4 EQUIPMENT AND COMPUTERS. Beginning with the assessment year
1 5 beginning January 1, 1996, property defined in section 427A.1,
1 6 subsection 1, paragraphs "e" and "j", and assessed pursuant to
1 7 section 427B.17, if owned by the same person and the combined
1 8 assessed valuation of all such property is less than twenty-
1 9 five thousand dollars.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill provides that industrial machinery, equipment and
1 12 computers assessed on or after January 1, 1996, shall be
1 13 exempt from property taxation if the assessed value of all
1 14 such property owned by a person is less than $25,000.
