  1  1    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  709C.11  EFFECTIVE DATE.
  1  2    This chapter takes effect July 1, 1996.
  1  3    Sec. 2.  1994 Iowa Acts, chapter 1172, section 74, is
  1  4 amended to read as follows:
  1  5    SEC. 74.  EFFECTIVE DATES DATE.  Sections 43 through 52
  1  6 take effect July 1, 1995.
  1  7    Section 63 of this Act takes effect June 30, 1994.  
  1  8                           EXPLANATION
  1  9    This bill establishes a new effective date for chapter
  1 10 709C, the sexually violent predator Act.  Currently, the Act
  1 11 takes effect on July 1, 1995.
