PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 97B.49, subsection 16, paragraph d, 1 2 subparagraph (3), Code 1995, is amended to read as follows: 1 3 (3) A correctional officer or correctional supervisor 1 4 employed by the Iowa department of corrections,; a 1 5 psychologist, nurse, corrections treatment director, or 1 6 administrative law judge employed by the department of 1 7 corrections and assigned to a correctional facility; and any 1 8 other employee of that department whose primary purpose is, 1 9 through ongoing direct inmate contact, to enforce and maintain 1 10 discipline, safety, and security within a correctional 1 11 facility. 1 12 EXPLANATION 1 13 This bill includes as eligible under the protection 1 14 occupation classification of the Iowa public employees' 1 15 retirement system those psychologists, nurses, corrections 1 16 treatment directors, and administrative law judges who are 1 17 employed by the department of corrections and assigned to a 1 18 correctional facility. 1 19 LSB 2453HH 76 1 20 rj/cf/24
