1 1 Section 1. Section 321G.1, Code 1995, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 13A. "Public land" means land owned by
1 4 the federal government, the state, or political subdivisions
1 5 of the state and land acquired or developed for public
1 6 recreation pursuant to section 321G.7.
1 7 EXPLANATION
1 8 This bill provides that public land, for the purposes of
1 9 snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles, includes land acquired
1 10 for public recreation pursuant to an appropriation from the
1 11 special conservation fund which receives moneys acquired from
1 12 snowmobile and all-terrain vehicle fees. The chapter
1 13 governing snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles provides
1 14 restrictions on the operation of these vehicles, including
1 15 certain registration requirements, when the vehicle is
1 16 operated on public lands.
