1 1 Section 1. Section 670.4, subsection 11, Code 1995, is
1 2 amended to read as follows:
1 3 11. A claim based upon or arising out of an act or
1 4 omission in connection with an emergency response including
1 5 but not limited to acts or omissions in connection with
1 6 emergency response communications services or address
1 7 identification systems.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill provides that a political subdivision of the
1 10 state will be exempt from tort liability regarding a delay in
1 11 the operation of an emergency response system such as an
1 12 enhanced 911 system if a street sign is missing due to
1 13 vandalism or if another cause, not related to a political
1 14 subdivision's normal duties and responsibilities, delays the
1 15 emergency response.
