  1  1    Amend House File 2423 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 24 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  99D.15A  ADDITIONAL TAX.
  1  5    A one percent tax is imposed annually on the gross
  1  6 receipts or net profits, whichever is less, from the
  1  7 operation of the pari-mutuel method of wagering on
  1  8 horse and dog races.  Tax proceeds shall be deposited
  1  9 into the child day care assistance fund created in
  1 10 section 237A.28.
  1 11    Sec.    .  NEW SECTION.  99F.11A  ADDITIONAL TAX.
  1 12    A one percent tax is imposed annually on the gross
  1 13 receipts or net profits, whichever is less, from the
  1 14 operation of gambling games authorized under this
  1 15 chapter.  Tax proceeds shall be deposited into the
  1 16 child day care assistance fund created in section
  1 17 237A.28.
  1 18    Sec.    .  Section 237A.28, Code 1995, is amended
  1 19 to read as follows:
  1 20    237A.28  CHILD DAY CARE CREDIT ASSISTANCE FUND.
  1 21    A child day care credit assistance fund is created
  1 22 in the state treasury under the authority of the
  1 23 department of human services.  The moneys in the fund
  1 24 shall consist of moneys deposited pursuant to section
  1 25 sections 99D.15A, 99F.11A, and 422.100 and shall be
  1 26 used for child day care services as annually directed
  1 27 by the general assembly.
  1 28    Sec.    .  Section 422.100, Code 1995, is amended
  1 29 to read as follows:
  1 30    422.100  ALLOCATION TO THE CHILD DAY CARE CREDIT
  1 31 ASSISTANCE FUND.
  1 32    The treasurer of state shall credit during the
  1 33 first month of each quarter of each fiscal year to the
  1 34 child day care credit assistance fund created in
  1 35 section 237A.28 the sum of six hundred fifty thousand
  1 36 dollars from the individual income tax withholding
  1 37 receipts."
