1 1 Amend the amendment, H-5523, to Senate File 2449,
1 2 as amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 1, by striking line 6 and inserting the
1 5 following: "INCOME TAXATION".
1 6 #2. Page 2, by inserting after line 16 the
1 7 following:
1 8 "Sec. . Section 422.7, Code Supplement 1995, is
1 9 amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 10 NEW SUBSECTION. 35. Subtract the portion of the
1 11 special assessment installment paid during the tax
1 12 year which constitutes interest, as determined by the
1 13 director."
1 14 #3. Page 2, line 21, by inserting after the figure
1 15 "1996." the following: "This division of this Act
1 16 applies retroactively to January 1, 1996, to tax years
1 17 beginning on or after that date."
1 18 #4. Page 6, line 6, by striking the word "of" and
1 19 inserting the following: "and allowing an interest
1 20 deduction for special assessments for".
