By striking page 4, line 32, through page 5, 1 4 line 1, and inserting the following: "the department 1 5 under section 321L.8. If". 1 6 #2. Page 5, line 32, by striking the word 1 7 "subsection," and inserting the following: 1 8 "subsection or". 1 9 #3. By striking page 5, line 33, through page 6, 1 10 line 6, and inserting the following: "placard which 1 11 shall be valid for a period of four years from the 1 12 date of issuance. A removable windshield placard 1 13 shall be renewed within thirty days of the date of 1 14 expiration. To renew the placard, the person shall 1 15 comply with the requirements for initial issuance of 1 16 the placard under this section. Personswho seek only1 17 seeking". 1 18 #4. Page 6, by striking lines 16 through 20 and 1 19 inserting the following: "windshield placards. The 1 20 department shall issue one additional". 1 21 #5. Page 7, line 28, by striking the words "one 1 22 thousand" and inserting the following: "three 1 23 hundred". 1 24 #6. Page 7, line 33, by striking the words "one 1 25hundredthousand" and inserting the following: "one1 26 three hundred". 1 27 #7. Page 8, by inserting after line 28 the 1 28 following: 1 29 "(3) The signature of the person who has been 1 30 issued the placard and the signature of the physician 1 31 or chiropractor who made the determination that the 1 32 person was handicapped for purposes of issuance of the 1 33 placard." 1 34 #8. Page 9, by inserting after line 9 the 1 35 following: 1 36 "6. The shape and color of the removable 1 37 windshield placard shall be changed and the placard 1 38 shall be reissued every four years." 1 39 #9. Page 11, line 4, by striking the word "fifty" 1 40 and inserting the following: "fiftyone hundred". 1 41 #10. By striking page 12, line 22, through page 1 42 13, line 3, and inserting the following: 1 43 "1. The department shall begin the issuance of new 1 44 permanent windshield placards and handicapped 1 45 designations on motor vehicle licenses or 1 46 nonoperator's identification cards, as provided in 1 47 this Act, beginning January 1, 1997. 1 48 2. After January 1, 1998, only new windshield 1 49 placards issued by the department pursuant to this 1 50 chapter shall be valid and any other hanging device 2 1 issued prior to January 1, 1997, shall be invalid. 2 2 3. A person who has been issued a hanging device 2 3 prior to January 1, 1997, shall apply for a new 2 4 removable windshield placard and handicapped 2 5 designation by January 1, 1998. 2 6 4. A person who has been issued handicapped 2 7 registration plates or handicapped identification 2 8 stickers shall apply for a handicapped designation on 2 9 the person's motor vehicle license or nonoperator's 2 10 identification card by January 1, 1998. 2 11 5. A person who has been issued a handicapped 2 12 parking permit, but who does not possess a valid Iowa 2 13 motor vehicle license, shall apply for a nonoperator's 2 14 identification card by January 1, 1998." 2 15 #11. Page 13, by inserting after line 12 the 2 16 following: 2 17 "Sec. . FUTURE REISSUANCE. The department 2 18 shall implement the reissuance of removable windshield 2 19 placards on January 1, 2001, and every four years 2 20 thereafter, in the same manner as provided for 2 21 reissuance in this Act." 2 22 #12.
