  1  1    Amend House File 2477 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 9, by striking lines 14 through 19.
  1  3    #2.  Page 10, line 1, by striking the figure
  1  4 "123,871,270" and inserting the following:
  1  5 "124,306,270".
  1  6    #3.  Page 10, line 13, by striking the figure
  1  7 "18,041,340" and inserting the following:
  1  8 "18,476,340".
  1  9    #4.  Page 10, by inserting after line 18 the
  1 10 following:
  1 11    "Of the moneys allocated to merged area XI in
  1 12 paragraph "j", for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
  1 13 1996, and ending June 30, 1997, $435,000 shall be
  1 14 expended on the career opportunity program to provide
  1 15 assistance to minority persons who major in fields or
  1 16 subject areas where minorities are currently
  1 17 underutilized pursuant to section 260C.29."
  1 18    #5.  Page 29, by inserting after line 2 the
  1 19 following:
  1 20    "Sec. 101.  Section 260C.29, subsection 3, Code
  1 21 Supplement 1995, is amended by adding the following
  1 22 new paragraphs:
  1 23    NEW PARAGRAPH.  f.  Contract with other community
  1 24 colleges to expand the availability of program
  1 25 services and increase the number of students served by
  1 26 the program.
  1 27    NEW PARAGRAPH.  g.  Establish a separate account,
  1 28 which shall consist of all appropriations, grants,
  1 29 contributions, bequests, endowments, or other moneys
  1 30 or gifts received specifically for purposes of the
  1 31 program by the community college administering the
  1 32 program as provided in subsection 2.  Not less than
  1 33 eighty percent of the funds received from state
  1 34 appropriations for purposes of the program shall be
  1 35 used for purposes of assistance to students as
  1 36 provided in subsection 5."
  1 37    #6.  By renumbering as necessary.
