1 3 #1. Page 2, by inserting after line 32 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. . Section 321.18, subsection 7, Code
1 6 1995, is amended to read as follows:
1 7 7. Any school bus in this state used exclusively
1 8 for the transportation of pupils to and from school or
1 9 a school function or for the purposes provided in
1 10 section 285.1, subsection 1, and section 285.10,
1 11 subsection 9, or used exclusively for the
1 12 transportation of children enrolled in a federal head
1 13 start program. Upon application the department shall,
1 14 without charge, issue a registration certificate and
1 15 shall also issue registration plates which shall have
1 16 imprinted thereon the words "Private School Bus" and a
1 17 distinguishing number assigned to the applicant. Such
1 18 plates shall be attached to the front and rear of each
1 19 bus exempt from registration under this subsection."
