1 1 Amend the amendment, H-3009, to Senate File 13, as
1 2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the Senate, as
1 3 follows:
1 4 #1. Page 4, by inserting after line 43 the
1 5 following:
1 6 "# . Page 15, by inserting before line 30, the
1 7 following:
1 8 "Sec. . Section 279.50, subsection 1,
1 9 unnumbered paragraph 3, and subsection 2, Code 1995,
1 10 are amended to read as follows:
1 11 Each school board or community college which offers
1 12 general adult education classes or courses shall
1 13 periodically offer an instructional program in
1 14 parenting skills and in human growth and development
1 15 for parents, guardians, prospective biological and
1 16 adoptive parents, and foster parents. The
1 17 instructional program shall include instruction to
1 18 parents in teaching their children about human
1 19 sexuality.
1 20 2. Each area education agency shall periodically
1 21 offer a staff development program for teachers who
1 22 provide instruction in human growth and development.
1 23 The staff development program shall include
1 24 instruction to teachers who teach adult education
1 25 classes or courses in providing parents with
1 26 information regarding teaching their children about
1 27 human sexuality.""
