  1  1    Amend House File 15 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, lines 6 and 7, by striking the words
  1  3 "and September 15".
  1  4    #2.  Page 1, line 12, by striking the words and
  1  5 figure "March June 15 and December 15" and inserting
  1  6 the following:  "March 15".
  1  7    #3.  Page 1, by inserting after line 13 the
  1  8 following:
  1  9    "Sec.    .  Section 607A.10, Code 1995, is amended
  1 10 to read as follows:
  1 11    607A.10  APPOINTIVE COMMISSION &endash; MASTER LIST.
  1 12    In each county the judges of the district court of
  1 13 the judicial district in which the county is located
  1 14 shall, on or before March 1 of each odd-numbered year,
  1 15 shall appoint three competent electors as a jury
  1 16 commission to draw up the master list for the two
  1 17 years one-year period beginning the following July 1.
  1 18 The names for the master list shall be taken from the
  1 19 source lists.  If all of the source lists are not used
  1 20 to draw up the master list, then the names drawn must
  1 21 be selected in a random manner.
  1 22    Sec.    .  Section 607A.20, Code 1995, is amended
  1 23 to read as follows:
  1 24    607A.20  JURY MANAGER.
  1 25    If the chief judge of the judicial district uses
  1 26 electronic data processing techniques and equipment
  1 27 for the drawing of jurors in lieu of a jury
  1 28 commission, the chief judge shall, after consultation
  1 29 with the clerk, district court administrator, and
  1 30 county auditor, shall appoint an individual to serve
  1 31 as the jury manager for the county.  The jury manager
  1 32 shall be responsible for the implementation of this
  1 33 chapter for the county.  The jury manager shall update
  1 34 the master list from the source lists at least once
  1 35 every two years year beginning January 1 after the
  1 36 general election is held."
  1 37    #4.  Title page, lines 1 and 2, by striking the
  1 38 words "an additional date for updating" and inserting
  1 39 the following:  "that".
  1 40    #5.  Title page, line 3, by inserting after the
  1 41 word "list" the following:  "shall be updated yearly".
  1 42    #6.  By renumbering as necessary.
