If following the delivery of the statement provided in section 97B.18, it is brought to the attention of the department that any entry of wages in its records is erroneous, or that any item of wages has been omitted from the records, the department may correct the entry or include the omitted item in its records, as the case may be. If a hearing is held, the department shall make findings of fact and a decision based upon the evidence adduced at the hearing and shall revise its records accordingly.
