When any lands in a drainage or levee district, or subdistrict, are subject to an unpaid assessment and levy for drainage purposes and are sold at tax sale for the amount of delinquent taxes, the county treasurer shall immediately report that fact to the board of supervisors, or to the trustees for the district, as the case may be.
