266.46  Advisory committee.

The fire service institute advisory committee is established to advise the institute. The advisory committee shall be composed of two members from each of the following organizations chosen from a list of names, submitted by each of the following organizations: Iowa firemen's association, Iowa fire chiefs' association, Iowa association of professional firefighters, Iowa association of professional fire chiefs, Iowa society of fire service instructors, hawkeye state fire safety association, and Iowa chapter of the international association of arson investigators. The advisory committee shall be appointed by the president of Iowa state university of science and technology. The president shall appoint the chairperson of the advisory committee.

The executive officer of the institute shall not serve on the advisory committee but may designate a member of the institute staff to serve as a secretary for the advisory committee. The members of the advisory committee shall not receive per diem, but may be reimbursed by the institute for reasonable expenses incurred in carrying out their duties.
