The department shall establish within the unit an information and administration co-ordinating center which shall serve as a registry for the receipt of information and for answering interstate inquiries concerning absent parents and shall co-ordinate and supervise unit activities. The information and administration co-ordinating center shall promote co-operation between the unit and law enforcement agencies to facilitate the effective operation of the unit.
