The Iowa egg council shall do all of the following:
1. Promote all of the following:
a. The increased utilization of eggs and egg products.
b. Health benefits associated with the consumption of eggs or egg products.
c. Economic benefits associated with the production and processing of eggs or egg products.
d. The safe use and consumption of eggs and egg products.
2. Provide for market development.
3. Administer elections for members of the council and provide for the appointment of persons to fill vacancies occurring on the council, as provided in section 184.8. The department may assist the council in administering an election, upon request to the secretary by the council.
4. Perform any other function the council deems necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter.
