147.12  Examining boards.

For the purpose of giving examinations to applicants for licenses to practice the professions for which licenses are required by this subtitle, the governor shall appoint, subject to confirmation by the senate, a board of examiners for each of the professions. The board members shall not be required to be members of professional societies or associations composed of members of their professions.

If a person who has been appointed by the governor to serve on an examining board has ever been disciplined in a contested case by the board to which the person has been appointed, all board complaints and statements of charges, settlement agreements, findings of fact, and orders pertaining to the disciplinary action shall be made available to the senate committee to which the appointment is referred at the committee's request before the full senate votes on the person's appointment.
