1 1 Section 1. Section 600A.8, Code 2003, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 10. The parent has been convicted and
1 4 imprisoned for felony physical or sexual abuse of the parent's
1 5 child, the child's sibling, or any other child in the parent's
1 6 or child's household.
1 7 EXPLANATION
1 8 This bill amends Code section 600A.8 to provide a new basis
1 9 for termination of parental rights for a parent who has been
1 10 convicted and imprisoned for felony physical or sexual abuse
1 11 of the parent's child, the child's sibling, or any other child
1 12 in the parent's or child's household.
