1 1 Section 1. Section 272C.3, Code Supplement 2003, is
1 2 amended by adding the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 5. A licensing board specified in section
1 4 272C.1, or otherwise regulating a profession or occupation
1 5 requiring licensure in this state, shall not impose a penalty
1 6 for failure to remit a licensing application or renewal fee
1 7 upon a person applying for licensure or licensed to practice
1 8 the occupation or profession in this state during a period
1 9 that the person serves honorably on active duty in the
1 10 military service of this state or of the United States.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill provides that an individual applying for
1 13 licensure or licensed to practice a profession or occupation
1 14 requiring licensure in this state shall not be subject to a
1 15 penalty imposed by a licensing board for failure to remit a
1 16 licensing application or renewal fee during a period that the
1 17 person serves honorably on active duty in the military service
1 18 of this state or of the United States.
