  1  4 PROVIDING FOR THE ANIMAL UNIT CAPACITY OF FOWL FOR PURPOSES OF
  1  5    REGULATION UNDER THE ANIMAL AGRICULTURE COMPLIANCE ACT, AND
  1  6    PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

  1  8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1 10    Section 1.  Section 459.102, subsection 6, paragraphs h and
  1 11 i, Code 2003, are amended to read as follows:  
  1 12    h.  Turkeys weighing one hundred twelve ounces
  1 13 or more ................................................. 0.018
  1 14    i.  Turkeys weighing less than one hundred
  1 15 twelve ounces ........................................... 0.0085
  1 16    i. j. Broiler or layer chickens Chickens weighing
  1 17 forty-eight ounces or more .............................. 0.010
  1 18    k.  Chickens weighing less than forty-eight
  1 19 ounces .................................................. 0.0025
  1 20    Sec. 2.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  1 21 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
