PAG LIN 1 1 Amend House File 2473, as amended, passed, and 1 2 reprinted by the House, as follows: 1 3 #1. Page 2, by inserting after line 15 the 1 4 following: 1 5 "Sec. . Section 229.10, subsection 1, 1 6 unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2003, is amended to read 1 7 as follows: 1 8 An examination of the respondent shall be conducted 1 9 by one or more licensed physicians, as required by the 1 10 court's order, within a reasonable time. If the 1 11 respondent is detained pursuant to section 229.11, 1 12 subsection 2, the examination shall be conducted 1 13 within twenty-four hours. If the respondent is 1 14 detained pursuant to section 229.11, subsection 1 or 1 15 3, the examination shall be conducted within forty- 1 16 eight hours. If the respondent so desires, the 1 17 respondent shall be entitled to a separate examination 1 18 by a licensed physician of the respondent's own 1 19 choice. The reasonable cost ofsuch separateeach 1 20 examination shall, if the respondent lacks sufficient 1 21 funds to pay the cost, be paid from county funds upon 1 22 order of the court." 1 23 #2.
