  1  1    Amend House File 2231, as passed by the House, as
  1  2 follows:
  1  3    #1.  Page 2, line 29, by inserting before the word
  1  4 "Relevant" the following:  "Relevant information
  1  5 provided to the general public shall include the
  1  6 offense level pursuant to subsection 5A."
  1  7    #2.  Page 2, by inserting after line 30 the
  1  8 following:
  1  9    "5A.  a.  In addition to any relevant information
  1 10 disclosed in subsection 5, the department shall
  1 11 disclose the offense level of a person required to
  1 12 register under this chapter.  The offense level shall
  1 13 be disclosed to the general public in the following
  1 14 manner:
  1 15    (1)  "High offense level" means any conviction for
  1 16 an offense categorized as a class "A", "B", or "C"
  1 17 felony, or a person required to register for the rest
  1 18 of the person's life.
  1 19    (2)  "Moderate offense level" means any conviction
  1 20 for an offense categorized as a class "D" felony.
  1 21    (3)  "Low offense level" means any conviction for
  1 22 an offense categorized as a misdemeanor.
  1 23    b.  If a person required to register under this
  1 24 chapter has a conviction under the laws of another
  1 25 state, the department shall determine the offense
  1 26 level prior to disclosing the information to the
  1 27 general public."
  1 28    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
