1 6 MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
1 7 Sec. . Section 627.6A, subsection 1, Code 2003,
1 8 is amended to read as follows:
1 9 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section
1 10 627.6, a debtor shall not be permitted to claim
1 11 exemptions with regard to payment or a portion of
1 12 payment under a pension, annuity, individual
1 13 retirement account, profit-sharing plan, universal
1 14 life insurance policy, or similar plan or contract due
1 15 to illness, disability, death, age, or length of
1 16 service for child, spousal, or medical support, or,
1 17 while the debtor is incarcerated, restitution ordered
1 18 pursuant to chapter 910.
1 19 Sec. . EFFECTIVE DATE – RETROACTIVE
1 20 APPLICABILITY. The section of this Act amending
1 21 section 627.6A, being deemed of immediate importance,
1 22 takes effect upon enactment and is retroactively
1 23 applicable to January 1, 2004, and applies on and
1 24 after that date."
1 25 #2. Title page, line 1, by inserting after the
1 26 words "retirement systems" the following: "and other
1 27 employee benefit-related matters".
