  1  1    Amend Senate File 2298 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 51, by inserting after line 19 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Sec.    .  SCHOOL FINANCE FORMULA APPROPRIATION.
  1  5 Notwithstanding section 8.22A, subsection 3, or any
  1  6 other provision of law to the contrary, the revenue
  1  7 estimate agreed to by the revenue estimating
  1  8 conference at its March 19, 2004, meeting shall be
  1  9 used in determining the state general fund expenditure
  1 10 limitation for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004.
  1 11 The amount of the increase in the expenditure
  1 12 limitation over the limitation based upon the revenue
  1 13 estimate agreed to by the revenue estimating
  1 14 conference at its December 8, 2003, meeting shall be
  1 15 appropriated to the department of education for
  1 16 distribution pursuant to section 257.16 to pay
  1 17 foundation aid and supplementary aid under section
  1 18 257.4, subsection 2.  The amount appropriated in this
  1 19 section shall be distributed on a per pupil basis to
  1 20 school districts based upon the district's budget
  1 21 enrollment."
  1 22    #2.  Page 62, by inserting after line 34 the
  1 23 following:
  1 24    "Sec.    .  Section 257.35, subsection 2, Code
  1 25 Supplement 2003, is amended by striking the
  1 26 subsection."
