  1  1    Amend Senate File 2247 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Section 1.  Section 321.34, subsection 11,
  1  5 paragraphs c and d, Code Supplement 2003, are amended
  1  6 to read as follows:
  1  7    c.  The special natural resources fee for letter
  1  8 number designated natural resources plates is thirty-
  1  9 five forty-five dollars.  The fee for personalized
  1 10 natural resources plates is forty-five dollars which
  1 11 shall be paid in addition to the special natural
  1 12 resources fee of thirty-five forty-five dollars.  The
  1 13 fees collected by the director under this subsection
  1 14 shall be paid monthly to the treasurer of state and
  1 15 credited to the road use tax fund.  Notwithstanding
  1 16 section 423.24, and prior to the crediting of revenues
  1 17 to the road use tax fund under section 423.24,
  1 18 subsection 1, paragraph "b", the treasurer of state
  1 19 shall credit monthly from those revenues to the Iowa
  1 20 resources enhancement and protection fund created
  1 21 pursuant to section 455A.18, the amount of the special
  1 22 natural resources fees collected in the previous month
  1 23 for the natural resources plates.
  1 24    From the moneys credited to the Iowa resources
  1 25 enhancement and protection fund under this paragraph
  1 26 "c", ten dollars of the fee collected for each natural
  1 27 resources plate issued, and fifteen dollars from each
  1 28 renewal fee, shall be allocated to the department of
  1 29 natural resources wildlife bureau to be used for
  1 30 nongame wildlife programs.
  1 31    d.  Upon receipt of the special registration
  1 32 plates, the applicant shall surrender the current
  1 33 registration receipt and plates to the county
  1 34 treasurer.  The county treasurer shall validate the
  1 35 special registration plates in the same manner as
  1 36 regular registration plates are validated under this
  1 37 section.  The annual special natural resources fee for
  1 38 letter number designated plates is ten twenty-five
  1 39 dollars which shall be paid in addition to the regular
  1 40 annual registration fee.  The annual fee for
  1 41 personalized natural resources plates is five dollars
  1 42 which shall be paid in addition to the annual special
  1 43 natural resources fee and the regular annual
  1 44 registration fee.  The annual special natural
  1 45 resources fee shall be credited as provided under
  1 46 paragraph "c"."
  1 47    #2.  Title page, line 3, by inserting after the
  1 48 word "plate" the following:  ", modifying the fees for
  1 49 natural resources registration plates,".
  1 50    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
