1 3 #1. Page 5, by inserting after line 3 the
1 4 following:
1 5 "Sec. ___. Section 15E.194, Code 2003, is amended
1 6 by adding the following new subsection:
1 7 NEW SUBSECTION. 5. In order to assure the
1 8 retention of existing jobs that would otherwise be
1 9 lost in connection with an employer currently
1 10 employing at one place of business at least one
1 11 thousand employees, the department of economic
1 12 development may, upon a finding that the employer has
1 13 made a commitment to invest at least fifteen million
1 14 dollars to retool or upgrade its facilities, authorize
1 15 incentives and assistance under section 15E.196 in an
1 16 amount equal to and on the same basis as if the
1 17 employer were an eligible business in an enterprise
1 18 zone."
