  1  1    Amend the amendment, S-3097, to House File 534, as
  1  2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the House, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 9 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "#   .  Page 8, line 27, by inserting after the
  1  7 word "approving" the following:  ", on an annual
  1  8 basis,".
  1  9    #   .  Page 8, line 28, by striking the word
  1 10 "service.", and inserting the following:  "service,
  1 11 the procedure for resolving complaints concerning the
  1 12 service provided, and the procedure for setting rates
  1 13 for the service.  In addition, if the service to be
  1 14 provided may also be provided to the judicial branch
  1 15 and legislative branch, then the rules shall provide
  1 16 that the chief justice of the supreme court and the
  1 17 legislative council may, in their discretion, each
  1 18 appoint a member to the applicable customer council.""

  2 26    a.  (1)  The department of administrative services
  2 27 shall, pursuant to the requirements of this section,
  2 28 select a designated state service and conduct a pilot
  2 29 project to determine the feasibility of conducting a
  2 30 managed competition for delivery of the service and
  2 31 shall submit a report, with its findings and
  2 32 recommendations, to the legislative fiscal bureau and
  2 33 the committees on government oversight of the senate
  2 34 and house of representatives by July 1, 2005.
  2 35    (2)  In addition, the department of administrative
  2 36 services may,".

  3  5 technology services to the department of
  3  6 administrative services and of the impact of
  3  7 physically merging the data centers of the department,
  3  8 the state department of transportation, and the
  3  9 department of workforce development, into one data
  3 10 center.  The study shall include an assessment of
  3 11 advantages and disadvantages, economies of scale,
  3 12 cost, and space availability, and shall solicit input
  3 13 from outside vendors, both public and private.  The
  3 14 department shall report to the legislative fiscal
  3 15 bureau and the committees on government oversight of
  3 16 the senate and house of representatives on the
  3 17 department's findings and recommendations by November
  3 18 1, 2004."

  3 44 Session, which provisions relate to official legal and
  3 45 other publications, procurements, special distribution
  3 46 of legal publications, and restrictions on free
  3 47 distributions by the legislative service bureau or its
  3 48 successor agency, shall prevail over any conflicting
  3 49 provisions of this Act.""
