  1  1    Amend the amendment, S-3097, to House File 534, as
  1  2 amended, passed, and reprinted by the House, as
  1  3 follows:
  1  4    #1.  Page 1, by inserting after line 14 the
  1  5 following:
  1  6    "#   .  Page 8, by inserting before line 33 the
  1  7 following:
  1  8    "4.  The department shall annually prepare a
  1  9 listing separately identifying services to be provided
  1 10 by the department and funded by an appropriation,
  1 11 services to be provided by the department and funded
  1 12 by the governmental entity receiving the service, and
  1 13 services which the department is authorized to provide
  1 14 but which governmental entities may provide on their
  1 15 own or obtain from another provider of the service.""

  2 10 select a designated state service and conduct a pilot
  2 11 project to determine the feasibility of conducting a
  2 12 managed competition for delivery of the service and
  2 13 shall submit a report, with its findings and
  2 14 recommendations, to the legislative fiscal bureau and
  2 15 the committees on government oversight of the senate
  2 16 and house of representatives by July 1, 2005.
  2 17    (2)  In addition, the department of administrative
  2 18 services may,".

  2 39 physically merging the data centers of the department,
  2 40 the state department of transportation, and the
  2 41 department of workforce development, into one data
  2 42 center.  The study shall include an assessment of
  2 43 advantages and disadvantages, economies of scale,
  2 44 cost, and space availability, and shall solicit input
  2 45 from outside vendors, both public and private.  The
  2 46 department shall report to the legislative fiscal
  2 47 bureau and the committees on government oversight of
  2 48 the senate and house of representatives on the
  2 49 department's findings and recommendations by November
  2 50 1, 2004."
