1 16 "NEW SUBSECTION. 10. TEMPORARY FEE INCREASE –
1 17 APPROPRIATION.
1 18 a. The temporary fee increase for a driver's
1 19 license under subsections 2, 3, and 4 shall not be
1 20 charged to a driver for more than five years of
1 21 license validity.
1 22 b. The additional fees collected from the
1 23 temporary fee increase under subsections 2, 3, and 4,
1 24 and from the temporary fee increase for a duplicate,
1 25 substitute, or replacement driver's license under
1 26 section 321.195, are appropriated to the state".
1 27 #8. Page 6, by inserting after line 19 the
1 28 following:
1 29 "Sec. . Section 321.195, Code 2003, is amended
1 30 to read as follows:
1 31 321.195 DUPLICATE DRIVER'S LICENSES AND
1 32 NONOPERATOR'S IDENTIFICATION CARDS.
1 33 If a driver's license or nonoperator's
1 34 identification card issued under this chapter is lost
1 35 or destroyed, the person to whom the license or card
1 36 was issued may, upon payment of a fee of three dollars
1 37 for a driver's license or nonoperator's identification
1 38 card, obtain a duplicate, or substitute, upon
1 39 furnishing proof satisfactory to the department that
1 40 the driver's license or nonoperator's identification
1 41 card has been lost or destroyed. A fee of one dollar
1 42 shall be charged for the voluntary replacement of a
1 43 driver's license or nonoperator's identification card.
1 44 However, for the period beginning July 1, 2003, and
1 45 ending June 30, 2008, the fee for a duplicate or
1 46 substitute driver's license is four dollars, and the
1 47 fee for voluntary replacement of a driver's license is
1 48 two dollars."
1 49 #9. Page 11, by striking lines 24 through 28 and
1 50 inserting the following:
2 1 "Sec. . The sections of this division amending
2 2 section 321.191, subsections 2, 3, and 4, and section
2 3 321.195, Code 2003, are repealed effective July 1,
2 4 2008, and the Code editor shall return the language in
2 5 section 321.191, subsections 2, 3, and 4, and section
2 6 321.195 to the language contained in the 2003 Code
2 7 without affecting subsequent amendments to those
2 8 sections unrelated to the fee increase enacted in this
2 9 Act."
2 10 #10. Page 11, line 30, by striking the figure
