PAG LIN 1 1 Section 1. Section 625A.9, subsection 2, Code Supplement 1 2 2003, is amended to read as follows: 1 3 2. If the judgment or order appealed from is for money, 1 4 such bond shall not exceedone hundred ten percent of the1 5amount of the money judgmentany of the following amounts, 1 6 excluding costs: 1 7 a. One hundred percent of the amount of the money judgment 1 8 up to and including one million dollars. 1 9 b. One million dollars, if the amount of the money 1 10 judgment is in excess of one million dollars, up to and 1 11 including one hundred million dollars. 1 12 c. Twenty-five million dollars, if the amount of the money 1 13 judgment is in excess of one hundred million dollars. 1 14 EXPLANATION 1 15 This bill amends Code section 625A.9 to provide that if a 1 16 civil judgment or order appealed from is for money, an appeal 1 17 bond shall not exceed any of the following amounts, excluding 1 18 costs: 1 19 1. One hundred percent of the amount of the money judgment 1 20 up to and including $1 million. 1 21 2. One million dollars, if the amount of the money 1 22 judgment is in excess of $1 million, up to and including $100 1 23 million. 1 24 3.
