1 1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 7A.2A OFFICIAL REPORTS –
1 2 FINANCIAL INFORMATION.
1 3 1. An official report issued by a state official, board,
1 4 commission, department, independent agency, or political
1 5 subdivision of the state shall include a financial information
1 6 section pertaining to the topic of the report. The financial
1 7 information shall include but is not limited to budget and
1 8 actual revenue and expenditure information for the year in
1 9 progress and the previous fiscal year and may include actual
1 10 information for previous years or projected information for
1 11 future years. In addition to any narrative, the financial
1 12 information shall be provided in graphic form utilizing a
1 13 columnar format.
1 14 2. Any report publicly issued, submitted to a public
1 15 official or a state agency, or otherwise made publicly
1 16 available by a state official, board, commission, department,
1 17 independent agency, or political subdivision of the state is
1 18 an official report and is subject to this section.
1 19 EXPLANATION
1 20 This bill requires state and local government official
1 21 reports to include a financial information section.
1 22 The bill applies to any official report issued by a state
1 23 official, board, commission, department, independent agency,
1 24 or political subdivision of the state. The financial
1 25 information is required to include at least the budget for the
1 26 current year and the previous year's actual revenues and
1 27 expenditures and may include such information for previous or
1 28 future years. The information must be provided in graphic
1 29 form in a columnar format.
