1 2 BY STEVENS
1 3 A Resolution congratulating Stephanie A. Moore on her
1 4 service as Miss Iowa.
1 5 WHEREAS, the Miss America Contest provides an
1 6 opportunity for young women in Iowa to compete for the
1 7 honor of representing the State of Iowa in national
1 8 competition; and
1 9 WHEREAS, the Miss America program supports the
1 10 educational endeavors of young women by awarding a
1 11 substantial amount of scholarships to contestants; and
1 12 WHEREAS, Stephanie A. Moore, the winner of this
1 13 state's Miss America contest, has capably represented
1 14 the State of Iowa in national competition and has
1 15 devoted countless hours in public appearances
1 16 throughout the state during her year reign as Miss
1 17 Iowa; and
1 18 WHEREAS, Stephanie A. Moore, during her current
1 19 reign as Miss Iowa, has served capably as a state
1 20 spokesperson for the National Mentoring Partnership
1 21 and Iowa Mentoring Partnership; NOW THEREFORE,
1 22 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
1 23 That the Iowa House of Representatives congratulates
1 24 Stephanie A. Moore, crowned as Miss Iowa, and this
1 25 state's representative in the Miss America Contest,
1 26 for capably and honorably representing the state.
