1 5 HUSER, PETERSEN, WISE, SMITH, THOMAS, BERRY,
1 6 WHITEAD, T. TAYLOR, MERTZ, LENSING, WINCKLER,
1 7 SHOULTZ, and DANDEKAR
1 8 A House Resolution relating to Medicare reimbursement.
1 9 WHEREAS, the state of Iowa ranks 50th among the
1 10 states in Medicare program payment reimbursement from
1 11 the federal government per enrollee for medical
1 12 services provided to Iowans; and
1 13 WHEREAS, Iowans pay the same rate to the federal
1 14 government as do the citizens of all other states for
1 15 Medicare services; and
1 16 WHEREAS, the medical services provided to Iowans
1 17 are of no lesser quality than those provided in the
1 18 other states; NOW THEREFORE,
1 19 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,
1 20 That the Iowa General Assembly requests that the
1 21 federal government provide equality in Medicare to the
1 22 citizens of all states by providing equality in
1 23 Medicare reimbursement rates; and
1 24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this
1 25 resolution be sent to the President of the United
1 26 States, the Majority and Minority Leaders of the
1 27 United States Senate, the Speaker, Majority Leader,
1 28 and Minority Leader of the United States House of
1 29 Representatives, and to members of the Iowa
1 30 congressional delegation.
