1 4 ALLOWING A MODIFIED CRIMINAL PENALTY FOR CERTAIN THEFTS FROM
1 5 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS WITHIN A THIRTY-DAY PERIOD.

1 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 9 Section 1. Section 714.3, unnumbered paragraph 2, Code
1 10 2003, is amended to read as follows:
1 11 If money or property is stolen from the same person or
1 12 location by two or more acts, or from different persons by two
1 13 or more acts which occur in approximately the same location or
1 14 time period, or from different locations by two or more acts
1 15 within a thirty-day period, so that the thefts are
1 16 attributable to a single scheme, plan, or conspiracy, these
1 17 acts may be considered a single theft and the value may be the
1 18 total value of all the property stolen.
