  1  4 RELATING TO THE USE OF BLAZE ORANGE APPAREL BY HUNTERS AND
  1  5    SUBJECTING VIOLATORS TO A PENALTY.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  9    Section 1.  Section 481A.122, Code 2003, is amended to read
  1 10 as follows:
  1 11    481A.122  DEER HUNTERS' HUNTERS' ORANGE APPAREL.
  1 12    A person shall not hunt deer with firearms unless the
  1 13 person is at the time wearing one or more of the following
  1 14 articles of visible, external apparel:  A vest, coat, jacket,
  1 15 sweatshirt, sweater, shirt, or coveralls, the color and
  1 16 material of which shall be solid blaze orange.  A person shall
  1 17 not hunt upland game birds, as defined by the department,
  1 18 unless the person is at the time wearing one or more of the
  1 19 following articles of visible, external apparel:  A hat, cap,
  1 20 vest, coat, jacket, sweatshirt, sweater, shirt, or coveralls,
  1 21 the color and material of which shall be at least fifty
  1 22 percent solid blaze orange.
