1 1 Section 1. ADDITIONAL LANDOWNER ANTLERLESS DEER ONLY
1 2 HUNTING LICENSE. Notwithstanding section 483A.24, subsection
1 3 2, paragraph "b", Code 2003, beginning July 1, 2004, and
1 4 ending January 2, 2006, the department of natural resources
1 5 shall, upon written application on forms furnished by the
1 6 department, issue annually without fee an additional
1 7 antlerless deer only hunting license to the owner of a farm
1 8 unit or to a member of the owner's family, but not to both.
1 9 For purposes of this section, "farm unit" and "owner" mean the
1 10 same as defined in section 483A.24, subsection 2.
1 11 EXPLANATION
1 12 This bill provides that beginning July 1, 2004, and ending
1 13 January 2, 2006, the department of natural resources shall,
1 14 upon written application, issue annually without fee an
1 15 additional antlerless deer only hunting license to the owner
1 16 of a farm unit or to a member of the owner's family, but not
1 17 to both. Currently, Code section 483A.24 provides for the
1 18 issuance of one free deer hunting license to the owner of a
1 19 farm unit or a member of the owner's family.
