1 1 Section 1. Section 600.16, Code 2003, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new subsection:
1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 3A. Upon the request of an adopted person
1 4 who is not a minor, the juvenile court or court shall provide
1 5 social history information about the adopted person and the
1 6 biological family of the adopted person to the state registrar
1 7 for the sole purpose of providing sufficient information for
1 8 the state registrar to make a requested match pursuant to
1 9 section 144.43A.
1 10 EXPLANATION
1 11 This bill directs the juvenile court or court, upon the
1 12 request of an adopted person, to provide social history
1 13 information about the adopted person and the biological family
1 14 of the adopted person to the state registrar, solely for the
1 15 purpose of providing sufficient information to the state
1 16 registrar to make the requested match under the mutual consent
1 17 voluntary adoption registry.
