  1  4 RELATING TO LICENSES FOR BAIT DEALERS BY CREATING RESIDENT
  1  5    AND NONRESIDENT WHOLESALE BAIT DEALER LICENSES, PROVIDING
  1  6    RECIPROCITY, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

  1  8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
  1  9 
  1 10    Section 1.  Section 483A.1, subsection 1, paragraph k, Code
  1 11 2003, is amended to read as follows:  
  1 12    k.  Bait Retail bait dealer license ................ $  30.50
  1 13    Sec. 2.  Section 483A.1, subsection 1, Code 2003, is
  1 14 amended by adding the following new paragraph:  
  1 15    NEW PARAGRAPH.  t.  Wholesale bait dealer license .. $ 125.00
  1 16    Sec. 3.  Section 483A.1, subsection 2, paragraph l, Code
  1 17 2003, is amended to read as follows:  
  1 18    l.  Bait Retail bait dealer license ................ $  66.00
  1 19                                                           125.00
  1 20 or the amount for the same type of license
  1 21 in the nonresident's state, whichever is
  1 22 greater
  1 23    Sec. 4.  Section 483A.1, subsection 2, Code 2003, is
  1 24 amended by adding the following new paragraph:  
  1 25    NEW PARAGRAPH.  t.  Wholesale bait dealer license .. $ 250.00
  1 26 or the amount for the same type of license
  1 27 in the nonresident's state, whichever is
  1 28 greater
  1 29    Sec. 5.  Section 483A.20, Code 2003, is amended to read as
  1 30 follows:
  1 31    483A.20  RECIPROCITY.
  1 32    Licenses for bait dealers or for fishing, hunting, or fur
  1 33 harvesting shall not be issued to residents of states that do
  1 34 not sell similar licenses or certificates to residents of
  1 35 Iowa.  However, the licensing of nonresident bait dealers who
  2  1 sell at wholesale to licensed dealers in Iowa for resale is
  2  2 permitted.
  2  3    Sec. 6.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of
  2  4 immediate importance, takes effect upon enactment.
