PAG LIN 1 1 HOUSE FILE 543 1 2 1 3 AN ACT 1 4 RELATING TO MINIMUM MAMMOGRAPHY EXAMINATION COVERAGE, AND MAKING 1 5 RELATED CHANGES. 1 6 1 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: 1 8 1 9 Section 1. Section 514C.4, subsection 1, unnumbered 1 10 paragraph 1, Code 2003, is amended to read as follows: 1 11 A policy or contract providing for third-party payment or 1 12 prepayment of health or medical expenses shall provide minimum 1 13 mammography examination coverage, including, but not limited 1 14 to, the following classes of third-party payment provider 1 15 contracts or policies delivered, issued for delivery, 1 16 continued, or renewed in this stateon or after July 1, 1989:. 1 17 Sec. 2. Section 514C.4, subsection 2, paragraphs a and c, 1 18 Code 2003, are amended to read as follows: 1 19 a. One baseline mammogram for any woman who is thirty-five 1 20 through thirty-nine years of age, or more frequent mammograms 1 21 if recommended by the woman's physician. 1 22 c. A mammogram every year for any woman who is fifty years 1 23 of age or older, or more frequently if recommended by the 1 24 woman's physician. 1 25 Sec. 3. Section 514C.4, subsection 4, Code 2003, is 1 26 amended to read as follows: 1 27 4. The commissioner of insurance shall adopt rules under 1 28 chapter 17A necessary to implement this sectionno later than1 29July 1, 1989. 1 30 1 31 1 32 1 33 CHRISTOPHER C.
