1 1 Section 1. Section 482.12, subsection 1, paragraph a, Code
1 2 2003, is amended by striking the paragraph and inserting in
1 3 lieu thereof the following:
1 4 a. A sport fishing license entitles a person to take and
1 5 possess a maximum amount of mussels or shells daily as
1 6 authorized by rule of the department or commission under the
1 7 authority of sections 456A.24, 481A.38, 481A.39, and 482.1.
1 8 EXPLANATION
1 9 This bill changes the amount of mussels and shells that a
1 10 person with a sport fishing license is entitled to take and
1 11 possess on a daily basis from a maximum of 20 pounds to the
1 12 amount that is authorized by an administrative rule of the
1 13 department of natural resources or the natural resource
1 14 commission pursuant to their authority to set limits on taking
1 15 and possessing wildlife pursuant to Code sections 456A.24,
1 16 481A.38, 481A.39, and 482.1.
1 17 A person who violates a provision of the bill is guilty of
1 18 a simple misdemeanor punishable as a scheduled violation under
1 19 Code section 805.8B, subsection 3, paragraph "o", for which
1 20 the fine is $50.
